A Step-by-Step JAMB UTME Registration Guide 

The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) serves as a pivotal examination, granting access to opportunities in Higher Institutions. It is specifically designed for Nigerian students aspiring for admission into tertiary institutions. To participate in this examination, completion of the registration process is mandatory. In this article, we will provide a comprehensive guide to successfully registering for JAMB UTME.  

For an easy and seamless registration process, gathering all the necessary documents is important. Which includes;  

  • Birth Certificate  
  • NIN 
  • School ID Card 
  • Passport Photographs: Prepare 10/15 of your most recent passport-sized photographs with a white background.  
  • O’ Level Result(s) e.g., WAEC, NECO, NABTEB.  
  • JAMB e-PIN: Purchase your JAMB e-PIN from authorized vendors or banks. Ensure to keep the receipt as it will be required during registration.  
  • Proof of State/LGA of Origin  
  • Security Code: Some registration centers may require a security code provided by the educational institution. Ensure you obtain this beforehand.  
  • Consent Form (If Underage): If you’re below the legal age of consent, ensure you get a consent form signed by your parent or guardian.  

  Depending on specific requirements or circumstances, you may need additional documents such as a letter of sponsorship, affidavit, or disability certificate.  

STEP 1:   

To register for the 2024 JAMB exams, Follow the steps below:  

  • Initiate your profile by sending your NIN to 55019 or 66019 as a text message. Write ‘NIN’ then space and add your 11-digit NIN number and 
  •  send to 55019 or 66019.  
  • The cell phone number used for sending NIN to 55019 or 66019 is automatically tied to the candidate’s name supplied by NIMC   

STEP 2: 

Having created your profile, the next step is purchasing your e-PIN. This can be achieved by following the steps below.  

  • Send a message to 55019 or 66019, after which you will receive the following details 10-digit profile code, registered name with NIMC, Total cost for UTME with Mock and without Mock  
  • Candidate should present the received profile code to the point of procurement of JAMB form (Banks, MFBs, USSD Partners, Switches). The ePIN is then sent as a text message to the candidate.  
  • Having received the ePIN, the candidate can now proceed to any JAMB accredited CBT center for further registration.  
  • Visit CBT Center to Register  
  • Once you get your JAMB e-PIN, you can take it to any CBT center to complete your JAMB registration without paying any other fee. Take along your JAMB Profile Code, JAMB e-PIN, your personal information, and O’level result as you begin registration.  

STEP 3: 

Visit the Official JAMB Portal www.jamb.gov.ng   

  • Complete your biodata with essential details and valid email address.  
  • Visit any accredited bank, JAMB office, or online platforms authorized by JAMB to get your JAMB Registration e-PIN.  
  • Proceed to input your NIN and make payment for the Registration Fee through the provided payment channels.  
  • Now that you have your e-PIN, visit the JAMB portal http://www.jamb.gov.org 
  • Click on ‘UTME Registration’  
  • Proceed to enter your 10-digit NIN and the e-PIN you purchased.  
  • Complete the registration form with your essential details including your name, date of birth and address.  
  • Upload a recent passport and your biometric data.  
  • Choose and select Your Examination preferred Town/state.  
  • Double-check and review all information entered before submitting.  
  • Print your registration slip which contains your examination details.  
  • Acquire the JAMB Brochure and Syllabus for effective preparation.
